The Woman Behind The Public Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe is forever immortalized as an iconic legend who died too young. Recent unpublished pictures of Marilyn have generated new interest in her life and death. Marilyn was born with the name Norma Jean. Norma Jean’s life was far from normal. Her mother has been described as disturbed, and she and Marilyn had a tumultuous relationship. Due to financial problems and her mother’s illness, Marilyn was placed in several foster homes. Her first marriage has been described by some as arranged. The irony of the new found photographs, of Marilyn, is that they portray a very innocent happy Marilyn.
Marilyn Monroe did not even pick out her stage name. She reportedly did not like the name Marilyn as it was composed of two names that she did not care for. The public’s fascination with Marilyn Monroe never wanes. She was a contradiction. Described, and made famous, by her sex symbol status, Marilyn was also reported to be shy and unassuming. For the girl who could have everything, her personal possessions were minimal. Portrayed as a diva, Marilyn suffered severe stage fright that kept her inside her dressing room. Each glimpse into Marilyn Monroe’s life only sheds more unanswered questions.
